Originated in the early 17th centurey. The first porcelain ware was produced here in Japan. Initiated by the korean potte,r Lee Cham Pyung. Many porcelain products with sophisticated overglaze enamel decoration were exported to European countries. Approx. 159 potteries including Arita-Yaki engage in porcelain production. Imari-Yaki has been developped in vicinity of Arita-Yaki under slightly different history.
