** Hasami-Yaki (Nagasaki) is Traditional Craft Products designated by the Japanese Government on 1978/2/6.
Originated by the Korean potters in the late 16th century. At that time, it was regarded as a part of Arita- and Imari-Yaki. It is characterized by fine Gosu (or indigo blue) paintings. In addition to the traditional products, the contemporary ones are produced now. Approx. 120 potteries engage in porcelain production.
