‘Japan Traditional Crafts Aoyama Square!

There is a gallery and shop introducing traditional crafts including pottery and porcelain from all across Japan in Tokyo. Many domestic and foreign visitors can encounter hand-crafted products of Japan here

All over Japan, there are craft industries which have been active since ancient times. The Minister of Economy, Trade and Industries has designated 243 products as ‘Traditional Craft Products’ which the requirements are:
+The craft product must serve a purpose in everyday life
+The main production process must be done by hand
+The technique or methods used must have been in use for at least 100years
+The type of raw material used must have been in use for at least 100years
+The industry must be of a regional nature
