Temparature of Sake Tasting

A temperature of sake is another element for the best appreciation.

+ 'Rei-shu’ (or Chilled sake) : Both the sake and your guinomi (or sake cup) should be chilled. The aroma and refreshing taste of chilled sake is best appreciated in the summertime.

+ 'Hiya' (or Room temperature sake) : .Both the sake and your guinomi are left at room temperature which offers the original taste of the sake with the best balance of sweetness, acidity and bitterness.

+ 'Nurukan' (or Warm sake) : The sake is warmed up to about 35 to 40 degree Celsius (near human’s temp.) by which the fragrance and flavor of the sake are released.

+ 'Atsukan’ (or Hot sake) : The sake is warmed up to about 50 degree Celsius by which the sharp fragrance and taste can be fully appreciated especially in the wintertime.
