** Hasami-Yaki (Nagasaki) is Traditional Craft Products designated by the Japanese Government.
Located at Nagasaki Prefecture. Originated by the Korean potters in the late 16th century. At that time, it was regarded as a part of Arita- and Imari-Yaki. It is characterized by fine Gosu (or indigo blue) paintings. In addition to the traditional products, the contemporary ones are produced now. Approx. 120 potteries engage in porcelain production.
